A Guy
Is Yahoo Mail unsafe?
True, but I don't ignore the messages. It also means an unsuccessful login to your account. It may be you mistyping when you login in or you logging in from a new device. But it can also be someone else. I don't know about Yahoo, but Google & MS let you see the geographical location and the ip address of any login attempt. I had someone from one of those countries with a "stan" in it wear mine out. Whether or not it mattered, I changed my old 8 digit password to 22 characters and they have since left the account alone.I ignore it. All any of these warnings mean is that their security systems for email are working according to their individual design criteria.
I didn't know that about Google and MS showing the geographical locations, thanks. I'll have to see if Yahoo offers that. My MS account (hotmail) is the one where the login attempts are made often. I'm going to go ahead and change the password there and see if that quiets it down. I agree with you about the importance of good passwords.True, but I don't ignore the messages.
