Solved YouTube Kids full screen video remains at original size

Hello!
Today I put some cartoons on YouTube for my son. I chose the Kids version (www.youtubekids.com) so I didn't have to press Skip Ads every few minutes. I selected the specific cartoon he wanted to watch and then I clicked on the bottom right [] icon to view full screen. The screen went black but the video played at top left of the screen at its original size, it didn't stretch to fit. I thought something was wrong with Microsoft Edge, so I tried Mozilla Firefox, but again the same thing. The video played top left at its original size in a black screen. Has anyone else seen this? Is there any settings I am missing?

I found it! If you see the browser normally (not full screen) and you press the [] button at bottom right of the video, it goes full screen and fits the screen as expected. If you see the browser in full screen (F11), and you press the [] button the screen goes black and the video plays top left at its original size. Weird.

I know this is old post, but I got the same problem. I created a script for it:
First of all you need to install Tampermonkey on the browser. (enable delevoper mode, allow user script, you can check on tampermonkey site)
After this install my script what is recalculate the video width and height and set it, when it clicked the fullscreen button.
That’s it.

Better solution: copy-paste the YouTube URL to VLC player or MPC-HC and then watch in full screen without ads. For MPC-HC you have to download yt-dlp and copy-paste the file in the application folder:

yt-dlp is very useful thing, but In my case this chromium is running in kiosk, for safety reason. :)
