I just purchased a Yubico Security Key NFC and I'm totally lost setting this up. There are so many words used that I've never encountered before. I'm running Win 11 version 24H2 with updates.
I need a (newbie) tutorial to set this up to protect my many different websites and passwords. I have a different password for every site, written down, I'm the only one that has access to this PC.
I've read so much about this security key, I thought I'd give it a try, little did I know how complicated the setup procedure would be. Every website I've looked at, makes it sound so very easy NOT. 🤣
Thank the Lord, I bought it from Amazon because I can always return it, if it comes to that.
HELP!! 🤣🤣

You will have to setup the key per site you wish to use it on. Most of the time it involves going into your per site security settings and adding the passkey there, entering your pin (setup on the passkey) if you set one up on the passkey and that's about it. All of the complexity is not visible to the user.

Also if you truly mean "written down" on paper or the computer, I would get a password manager and load all your credentials there, much safer. BitWarden starts out with a free plan or $1/month for a lot of extra features.

Thanks but that doesn't help, I've read all of that. Still "Greek" to me. 🤣

Yes, I mean written down on a sheet of paper. Seems the only time I need to enter a password is when I delete "cookies". I hate storing my passwords on Chrome, but I can login much quicker.
I've used a PC for over 20 years and I think I'm an above average user but this is beyond me and very frustrating.
I can see giving up on this thing and just save my sanity and return it. 😒😒
