This is what I want to do, cant seem to find any related articles
1. Choose a directory on my disk drive.
2. All files in that directory (including subfolders) will be backed up if they have changed since last backup.
3. after a specific time (example one minute to ten minutes) examine the files and make a backup copy of any that changed.
4. keep a specified number of copies before overwriting (up to 20 copies)
The automatic part woud consist of every few minutes examining the file of the directory and making backup of the changed files.
IMPORTANT, some of the files could be open for editing at the time the backup occurs, this would have to be handled in some way.
These are what I would like to do but have no idea how. Any apps or programs that can do this would be fine.

Hello @kamchakk1952 and welcome to ElevenForum. :-)

Macrium Reflect (paid), can do that.
There may be other programs that can, but I know Macrium can.

1. You can back up files or folders
2. You can run the program on a schedule
3. You can do "differential" backups, and set it for how many copies before overwrite.
4. I'm not sure of the time frame for scheduling. I know it can do as short as daily, and I believe you can set it to follow a script.
5. Macrium can backup files that are open for editing via "snapshot".

Hi kamchakk1952, welcome to the ElevenForums 🙏

Sounds like something FreeFileSync could handle. It can do everything you asked less one exception (because I have never looked into it) Multiple copies
It will detect a change in any file and save it after an interval of your setting.

I would suggest looking at the tutorial videos (note RealTimeSync that is included for on the fly backups) and search/ask about the multiple coppies in the forum. They’re really helpful, and the software is free.
