Oops.Avast
Oops.
Try uninstall Avast. Reboot. Run Windows update.
If you dont want to try with an uninstall , its a good idea as you already have an antivirus.I just turned protection off for a few mins, but it makes no difference. I will just hide the update if there is no solution.
With avast turned off, what happens if you open windows defender > virus and threat protection > protection updates > check for updates.I just turned protection off for a few mins, but it makes no difference. I will just hide the update if there is no solution.

I think windows defender cannot be used unless the other antivirus is uninstalled. I think turning it off will not be enough, but its worth a try. Otherwise I think the only option you will be offered is periodic scanning.
As far as I am aware, updates for defender will not be installed if it is disabled via another antivirus being installed.
OK, so my issue now isn't the Win Defender Update, it's that pesky KB5007651 (Version 1.0.2402.27001). It installs every day and I've already done all of the suggested steps numerous times. I will try to Reset WinUpdate, but everything else doesn't solve this problem.
The Defender issue is solved, only issue is now with that KB5007651 update.
Okay, we've established that the update doesn't seem to be installed at all on your system which would explain why Windows Update is repeatedly offering that same update. The issue is why isn't the update actually installing? Could you please provide all the logs in the %systemroot%\Logs\CBS folder?
My apologies, top of the page was still talking about antivirus. also Just provide them, he can fix itExactly!
There's a crapload of entries, i don't think you want to go through all of them.

Could you please provide all the CBS logs including the ones which have "persist" in their name? The CBS log has a size cap which when reached causes the previous logs to be renamed *persist.log.There's a crapload of entries, I don't think you want to go through all of them.
Buenas noticias mi gente / Good news peeps...
KB5007651 update is no longer showing up, and I've hit the View attachment 94498 button numerous times.
Hopefully it stays this way!
Great new.
Sorry but I got confused. What did you do and it was solved?
