Yes I did but that didn't work. Everyone did so it was just a case of isolating. Weird but after deleting Administrator and Everyone I added back Administrator, rebooted and all was good.

What format is the NAS. Is it Linux or Windows based. On my stubborn problem I had to carry out the changes on a drive inside the main PC which is Win. If you've got Linux then it's outside of my pay grade.

I'll throw my hat into the ring here and yes, each update with Win seems to introduce new problems especially on the network front but it doesn't affect the majority or so it would seem. My other PC's/Laptops could access the main PC but I had one that wouldn't - it had the dreaded 0x80070035...

The default for PDF refuses to change from Edge to Acrobat. I can open PDF files with the 'open with' command in Acrobat. Double clicking on the same PDF file and it opens with MS Edge. The settings will not allow a change from Edge. This seems to have happened after a recent Edge update.

Have Acrobat installed for opening etc PDF files by default. MS Edge recently updated and now unable to set the default to Acrobat for handling PDF files. Anyone else having this problem as it's driving me nuts!!

Sorry forgot to mention but the device stays warm (without the charger connected) after it goes into standby but will not wake. Pushing the power button and it acts like a cold boot.

Changed from a Dell 9365 XPS 13 i5 8200Y - close lid sent the machine into sleep mode. Now have a HP Envy x360 13-ay0009na Ryzen 7 4700U which goes into sleep mode for about 1 minute then totally switches off. This occurs whether it's running on battery power or plugged in. All applicable...

Thanks for replying and my apologies as I managed to get it sorted from this thread. No idea why changing the theme and reverting back to my preferences should fix it but it worked. Again apologies as I should have posted the solution on this thread - remiss of me.
