The microsoft photos app can trim video quite easily and quick, you cannot make crazy edits or anything but for simple stuff it does the job just fine.

My experience has been mostly reliable as well. My only issues are with the ads and constant shoving of microsoft services, but otherwise I agree. There have been several reports of people having issues with windows updates, but I luckily never have that problem at work or on my custom built...
