  1. Cast (to a wireless display) Pops Up Repeatedly (without any request)

Okay, this is truly bizarre. I've rebuilt an HP deskto PC that had Windows 11 and was wiped clean, reformatted, and reinstalled. That was a few weeks ago. Suddenly, the Cast pop-up window appeared without any invitation and won't go away. At times the pop-up takes over the Active window...
  2. Is this a valid MS Updates screen??

I appreciate all the attention to this. I want to share one more detail - the computer in question now has an app called ScreenConnect and I cannot seem to uninstall it or stop it completely. What's so odd about it is that it appears under the Program Files (x86) folder but the folder itself...
  3. Is this a valid MS Updates screen??

Windows Update is waiting to Restart Now --- with two updates: Secure Boot Allowed Key Exchange Key (KEK) Update 2026-03 Update (KB5086672) (26200.8117) I am very suspicious about the 1st one and not really sure about the 2nd one, either. Is there any way to get out of these two updates...
  4. Is this a valid MS Updates screen??

This doesn't look like valid for Windows 11. Has anyone seen this version and is it OK?
  5. Solved Error trying to install Windows Update

This worked for me as well. I found it much faster to download the Media Creation Tool instead of downloading the ISO. MUCH faster!
  6. Conundrum: Power Button LED Stays On When PC Unexpectedly Shuts Down

Steve C, et al, Appreciate the replies. I haven't had time to tear apart the PC to test the PSU, but I will. I have personally seen other PSUs completely or partially fail. What's so bizarre :eek1: is that the PC seems to shut down (when it SHOULD NOT) but doesn't fully shut down...

Will you look at those two files that have been shared in my Google Drive, please. system.evtx application.evtx

  9. Conundrum: Power Button LED Stays On When PC Unexpectedly Shuts Down

I'm not sure I want to change that. The issue isn't that the LED is on. The issue is my PC has shut down but pressing the Power button won't start it. That I have to disconnect power in order to restart the PC.
  10. Conundrum: Power Button LED Stays On When PC Unexpectedly Shuts Down

Is this a BIOS setting? I don't see it in Windows.
  11. Conundrum: Power Button LED Stays On When PC Unexpectedly Shuts Down

The only way to get out of this "mode" is to disconnect power. I break AC power to the computer either by pulling the plug from either end or turning off the PSU switch and then the LED goes off in a few seconds. Only then, I reconnect AC power and turning the tower on. This problem...
  12. Lenovo Yoga with new SSD, Clean Win11 install is SLOOOOOOW!!

Just saw this. Steve, I put a NEW SSD in before replacing the battery. Once the battery was replaced, the unit perfomed as expected, Windows installed promptly (under 5 minutes), so I don't see any need to do any CHKDSK. I mean, why?
  13. Lenovo Yoga with new SSD, Clean Win11 install is SLOOOOOOW!!

The battery never felt warm. FYI.
  14. Lenovo Yoga with new SSD, Clean Win11 install is SLOOOOOOW!!

Problem SOLVED: are you ready for this? I had ordered a replacement battery early on since it would only "charge to 42%" at most and, when unplugged, would immediately power down. So it was only running when plugged in. After swapping in the new battery, it booted quickly, programs opened...
