  1. Win Update KB5064081 Windows 11 Cumulative Update Preview build 26100.5074 (24H2) - Aug. 29

I have just updated to 26200.5074. So that's me on 25H2 now. Great. So what's the difference I ask myself? Well let's have a look.. The start menu is the same. File explorer is the same. Task manager is the same. Oh whatever, everything is the same. In fact there has been no real difference...
  2. Insider KB5052093 Windows 11 Insider Release Preview build 26100.3321 (24H2) - Feb. 18

Ah ok, I didn't know that. Thank you :-)
  3. Insider KB5052093 Windows 11 Insider Release Preview build 26100.3321 (24H2) - Feb. 18

I didn't explain myself very well. What I meant was that if the DISM tool is older than the system image would the tool think that the newer files are incorrect and try to revert back? I have to add that I have no idea what the component store is so aborted the fix after an hour. I have no...
  4. Insider KB5052093 Windows 11 Insider Release Preview build 26100.3321 (24H2) - Feb. 18

This might be a really silly question but aren't the DISM tool and Image version normally the same? May explain why things get stuck at 62.3%?
  5. Solved Widgets have disappeared

Hey, it's fixed! I reinstalled the Windows Web Experience pack from your link, rebooted and voila! All sorted. I have no idea what broke things in the first place and to be honest am not too bothered. One thing that I can do though is thank you once again for your help John, I really do...
  6. Solved Widgets have disappeared

Hi John I tried both options, GPEDIT shows widgets as enabled and the registry fix hasn't resolved it. I read elsewhere that reinstalling WEBVIEW2 can fix things, but it didn't work for me. I do appreciate your suggestion though, thanks for trying to help :)
  7. Solved Widgets have disappeared

Hello chaps So I booted up this morning and my desktop widgets have gone. I thought that it would be an easy fix and just needed to re-enable them through task bar settings. But they don't appear in the task bar settings, it's like widgets have never existed on my system. I have ran the...
  8. Solved Giveaway - EaseUS Todo Backup Home lifetime licence

To be totally honest I have tried to delete my original post because I messed up. But it seems that you can't delete a post once made so I was kinda hoping that nobody replied and I would get away with it. Things were going well until a couple of guys replied so I have to now do the walk of...
  9. Solved Windows indexing

Hey Devlin Thank you so much, that's sorted it. I'm a bit peeved off that I couldn't work out what Windows was constantly trying to index, I guess that I will have to leave that for another day. In the meantime a big gold star for you, cheers mate. Bill
  10. Solved Windows indexing

Hi guys Windows search index. Why is it so slow? Why does it never finish? I have scaled back all of the indexed locations down to 31,000 items needing indexing. Outlook and One Note are excluded from my indexing. As are XML files. I have an I7 10th Gen processor yet the indexing will only do...
  11. Solved Giveaway - EaseUS Todo Backup Home lifetime licence

Just put my licence number in and got this.. Guess I missed it.
  12. 🎉Giveaway - EaseUS Todo Backup Home lifetime licenses 🎉

D'oh! A post offering free stuff and I've only just clicked on it.. If you have any left I'll take one please!
  13. Downloads folder

I did wonder about windows.old but am pretty sure that it self deletes after 10 days. Windows should keep all files under C:/users/'username' so the downloads folder should have made it across on an upgrade if keeping all files and folders. The process shouldn't delete them and has never...
  14. Downloads folder

It definitely exists if you have files old enough to fit that criteria. Here's mine.. If you have done a full search through windows and they aren't showing then sorry, but I think they have gone.
