I did wonder about windows.old but am pretty sure that it self deletes after 10 days. Windows should keep all files under C:/users/'username' so the downloads folder should have made it across on an upgrade if keeping all files and folders. The process shouldn't delete them and has never...

It definitely exists if you have files old enough to fit that criteria. Here's mine.. If you have done a full search through windows and they aren't showing then sorry, but I think they have gone.

No "A Long Time Ago" is also present in W11 (do wish they'd add "In A Galaxy Far, Far Away" as the final category) Are you sure that you checked the box to keep personal files when upgrading to W11? Have you got any of your previous W10 files/programs? I can't remember the exact upgrade...

Hmmm.. not looking good is it! Maybe worth trying a search through the whole latop and seeing if they are lurking elsewhere? If you want to try search for *.pdf date:2021 within Windows (C: ) which should bring up all the pdf files for 2021.

Have you tried searching for date:2021 from within the downloads folder?

Glad to report that I hung about a bit and things have ironed themselves out in build 22463, all working fine (y) The release notes suggested that it was fixed but I'm ususally a bit sceptical..!
