OK great I managed to find this folder and delete everything. I'll see what happens and see if it updates the following day.
Thanks also for mentioning 'Dynamic Theme', I may well end up using this if Bing Wallpaper keeps giving me trouble.
So I go to the folder mentioned above and there's only 2 items, I just wanted to check its these items I'm deleting?
Also I look in Task Scheduler and I can't see anything where BingWallpaper is listed.
Only a small issue here but is something that's not working the way it should. So I have the Bing Wallpaper app installed which I've had for a while, I have enabled in to refresh the wallpaper daily, but for some reason it won't do it. I have tried reinstalling the app on a few occasions and it...
I haven't called Microsoft support only because I then saw the post about the starter pack and thought that would probably be the simpler solution. But it's possible I may still do so if I wanted to try and use Office 2010.
Thanks to everyone for your help and support.
I currently have Office 2016 installed but I found a Student & Faculty copy of Office 2010 that's been in the drawer for a while, ( it's one with the big yellow sticker on the back with the product key). I was hoping to give to a family member to use but after installation when opening Word it...
Yes that is the plan to take it to the tech on Monday and have them fix it. He'll install the new fan, reapply the paste and check it's running properly. We'll add some more RAM too.
I believe there is a cutout in the back of the case so it should be no problem.
I thank everyone for all your time and advice, I really do appreciate everyone's help. It's a learning process and this helps me gain even more computer knowledge. I've even learnt something with regards to the RAM...
The CPU cooling issue hasn't been ignored, that's currently in the process of being sorted, but the conversion ended up moving onto the topic of RAM which although isn't an issue it's just been recommended that I have 2 matching sticks rather than one single stick.
I've also done a bit of research on the RAM, and I understand why two 4GB sticks is better than one 8GB stick.
The question I have is although I feel my computer is fast enough will it still be a benefit to the computer to have the upgrade, would I notice the difference?
I did read it helps the...
I'll definitely look into getting a replacement fan, but what makes my current one a less than ideal choice?
Also what is the benefit of 2 RAM chips rather than just one? Again I'm happy to replace them if it makes the computer perform better.
I was looking at the fan mentioned in post 25, I saw pictures online where screw holes are at the top, but there's nowhere for them screws to go. I see the RAM could be a bit close, and the other fan at the back of the PC could be in the way.
Thanks to all who's offered advice. I did indeed get a tech to fit the processor previously so I'll be seeing him again to fit a new fan and reapply some new paste.
I'm happy to but a replacement CPU fan if necessary, but wouldn't the old one just clip back into place. Or is it just a good idea to replace it to save the issue happening again?
Also would the replacement listed here definitely fit my PC?
So the CPU was purchased last year, and everything else is original. So the CPU cooler was just put back in place but perhaps wasn't secured properly so I'll be sure to check that.
If indeed this is the problem does that explain why the temperature rises so fast and equally decreases as fast...
