the HP laptop only rebooted once and did it in about 20 seconds the asus took 10 minutes and both were in the same place prior

My Asus PC rebooted three times to finish installing this update... it must do more then a small tweak for Dell

why would they push an out of bound update on to all machines that aren't Dell if it didn't cause issues ? just before this came out - one of the people I offer my limited support too, had her W11 25H2 fully patched HP laptop boot up asking for the bitlocker key, fortunately she could retrieve...

check this post yesterday - allegedly its intel chips fighting with windows on Dell machines - so yours might be something else, and or Dell doing silly thing regardless...

its all changing with AI, MS are now uncovering silly numbers of bugs, 571 fixed in the July 2026 update and stuff is breaking - I can imagine 4gig to 6gig of the OS today is just bad patches confusing nasty patches, confusing an unknown number of worse patches. We will be seeing lots of stuff...

my mum's HP machine got a new bios offered late Jan 2026 - actual date was 19/Dec/2025 and they just released another claiming they released it in April (but they didn't) its now on F.52 Rev A 29/Apr/2026

Old world Acer laptop so no BIOS password - but you have to set a supervisor password to unlock most features in the security tab then need to go in next tab to turn off secure boot, to allow features in security tab to become fully unlocked (I'd tried that before but without supervisor...

is this the issue I found - the Delete All Keys is a single box around the entire set of 4 different cert types. But is doesn't go in each and delete them, it only deletes keys in which ever is the currently selected 1 to 4 cert type. So you need to do 4 steps, to delete all keys

got in the BIOS of the old ACER that needs manual tweaks - the security tab is there to select - shows no BIOS passwords claim to be set but I can't go down the list to turn off secure boot, or get to key management I only have an option to input a password - does that then unlock the rest...
