  1. Solved Google Search Alternative: Privacy not as much a concern as limiting results is

Much appreciated, everyone! I'm going to mark this "Solved" at this point as it will take some time to evaluate all of these relative to my browsing. If anyone knows of any others that provide superior capability please don't hesitate to post-
  2. Solved Google Search Alternative: Privacy not as much a concern as limiting results is

Alright, i admit it. I might highly regret this statement but i am soooooo insignificant i am not worried about privacy. Heck, when i was i college my student ID was my SSN. When i got a pilot's license, that also was my SSN. Now, i admit that was back when i had a dinosaur for a pet, but...
  3. Solved Reinstall Microsoft Print to PDF?

Hallelujah Though not on initially, this time turning it off and then back on actually worked (instead of erroring out). Many THANKS to everyone!!! So ends another day and a half of arguing with my computer...
  4. Solved Reinstall Microsoft Print to PDF?

@Kees: Thank you, i suspect i will be giving it a try sooner than later! @Brink: Another "old friend" that has bailed me out on multiple occasions! Many thanks for all the help you have given others and i over the years! Unfortunately i honestly tried every one of those Enable options...
  5. Solved Reinstall Microsoft Print to PDF?

@XxXxXx: Unfortunately too many times yesterday! I wish that worked but something just is possessed in my computer. Perhaps from Halloween? No, mu computer regularly acts possessed... @IanMosely: Funny, i recently downloaded PDF24 and am checking it out- @Bree: You have helped me out enough...
  6. Solved Reinstall Microsoft Print to PDF?

Thank you for considering my panic! I regularly use MS Print to PDF, it gives me a much more suitable output than either Adobe PDF (It doesn't help that i am beginning to develop a hatred for Adobe constantly resurrecting their updater and reinstalling their program into components of Office...
  7. Slow Computer

@ Bigsexy022870 - Well,,, in the meantime i kind of upgraded my RAM to the idiotic amount of 64GB... The issue is that for the first six or so months all was very fast, then something slowed it down noticeably. I presumed it was just one of those pesky Windows updates and soon enough it would...
  8. Slow Computer

Well, hasn't this been fun... Thursday evening i was doing some work in MS Access when it started to behave goofy. I would get "out of memory" errors and restart Access and some other idiot OLE error, then do a restart (of the computer), then at one point we automatically went into repair mode...
  9. Slow Computer

@ glasskuter: Thank you! @ Spunk: Would you be so kind as to briefly advise what capabilities i would be losing by converting to local? I have seen a number of folks actually recommend this- THank you, -Bruce
  10. Slow Computer

@ glasskuter: I'm on it! First step, research how to set up that local user account. I have read that W11 is designed to avoid that (maybe specific to 24H2), and i just don't remember much else, but it will be easy to find. I just re-ordered my work starting with local account, then safe mode...
  11. Slow Computer

@glasskuter - i appreciate your attention to detail! I am most focused upon CPU (i would think) with my primary use being MS Office programs. I might be wrong, but i suspect my gpu is likely not a factor (and is probably overkill for what i use this computer for), and since my drives are M.2's...
  12. Slow Computer

If i may impose one more time (for now...) on this issue - I know that i saw the slow down hit rather dramatically when it hit back around June of 2023. I honestly don't have a lot of confidence in my ability to recognize improvements for the better (or worse) unless they also are dramatic...
  13. Slow Computer

@ bobkin: Ohhhh, sorry, CPU usage, just before i started typing this, was 0. OK, it just jumped to 1%. Then back down to 0... OK, in the Settings version of Startups i did cut out about half and brought that down to 17, figuring if anything didn't work it would just take a flip of the switch. @...
  14. Slow Computer

Thanks for reminding me, badrobot, that could have been embarrassing... Need to go out and cut the lawn or i will face the wrath of the wife (coming up on something like the 30th anniversary in Dec), i best handle that and resume in a while!
  15. Slow Computer

And i am embarrassed i didn't mention - in trying to figure this out i also suspected malware creeping in. I have run the online scans of Norton (which i usually do not trust but in this case, it was actually recommended), Kaspersky (ibid), HitMan Pro and Eset, all finding nothing.
