Update -- I ran these programs both in safe mode and regular (I couldn't use Safe Mode with Networking as suggested because I only have a wifi connection, not ethernet). Malwarebytes found nothing in either mode. Hitman Pro found nothing in safe mode and would get hung up around 99% in regular...
