So finally got round to performing a clean install. The problem still exists. Can only assume its hardware. Saving up for a replacement so will work on that. Thanks all
It is indeed a bit odd @Winuser. Was hoping I could do a clean install this weekend but have ended up having to work, will get it done asap and update everyone when I've done it..
Hope everyone is having an awesome weekend.
Will give this a go before doing a full restore, thanks @hsehestedt. I the risk of sounding like an idiot (I'd rather ask), do I include the NVIDIA driver or just the Intel Iris ones? Will the newer nvidia drivers not just overwrite the original install files?
Yeah maybe you're right. Will aim to do it over the weekend when I don't have to work. Will download Macrium and see how create an image. Thank you for the idea!
No change, unfortunately. Seem to have to fully discharge the machine (ie, hold the power button down for 5 or so seconds) before it'll even power back on.
Ha.. So I turned it off and then couldn't turn it back on. Panicked. Pulled the battery and am running straight off the power adaptor. Now working perfectly. Is this therefore a battery issue or a power management chip issue?
