I have had this problem for quite some time - I just live with it.
Every time I do a copy/paste to the desktop it goes to the top left corner, then I have to drag it to where I want it.
Tried unchecking "align icons to grid" and it made no difference.
Also tried unchecking "auto arrange icons" -...
Well, still good for me (see my mail above).
Strange thing is that this morning the Reliability Monitor showed that Windows tried twice to update 7 drivers, and shows that they all failed. However, Windows Update page does not show anything, except "You're Up To Date".
Thanks cool59 - that worked for me.
(after the restart the list of bad updates was still there but I hit "pause for 1 week" and then "check for updates" and they all disappeared)
I tried a few things but was unable to resolve the problem with KB5017859 repeatedly trying to install, so I reverted to 21H2, let it install KB5017859, and now reinstalling 22H2. Fortunately I didn't have any important stuff on this computer.
My computer updated to 22H2 and now keeps trying to install KB5017859, which keeps failing.
I understand this update is only for 21H2 so how do I stop it trying to install ??
I am sometimes seeing Hardware Error Live Kernel Event 141 in the Reliability Monitor.
This corresponds in the event log to “Display driver igfx stopped responding and has successfully recovered 4101”.
I have been trying all the new drivers and had stopped Windows updating drivers using...
Thanks for that wpcoe - they certainly hid that well !
So it seems there is a bug in the "Last successful time sync" shown when right clicking date/time shown at bottom right.
Mine is showing 1 Sep 21 4:47pm
But when I go to "Internet Time" as you describe above it shows "The clock was...
Well, if I do "sync now" it updates the time so I guess the Windows server must be working OK.
Secondly, I cannot see in Windows 11 how to change the time server.
I noticed that my clock did not seem to be synchronizing with time.windows.com
(If I hit “sync now” it updates fine.)
I found on the internet that this reg entry should give the time in seconds for sync interval...
Just installed Dev Build - went OK but very slow, except that I ended up with a black screen and only the cursor.
Tried reboot - same thing.
There was no interaction possible that I could see except ctl-alt-del. I signed out and back in again and all is now good !
