My Trend Micro says the CPU-Z install is trying to install in a protected folder and that it is unsafe. Anyone else having this issue or problems after installing this?
Edit: Never mind. I was trying to install it to a OneDrive folder by mistake. After creating a folder on my C drive for it...
Exactly right. My 11 year old ASUS i7 Gen 3 laptop runs everything faster on Windows 11 than anything before, and it started with Windows Vista. It is a UX51VZA souped up with 32GB RAM for gaming and is still faster than newer laptops. I have updated through 7, 10 and 11 using the...
Yes, the ISOs take a long time for me as well. I have gigabit internet and it took 14 minutes. Maybe it has something to do with installing it on a flash drive?
I'm downloading the ISO to a thumb drive and each time, with different drives it gets to about 75% completed then says the disk is full and can't complete. I've tried 2 different 32GB drives with the same result. Have done this before at least 10 times over the years and never this issue. Any...
That's what I thought. But you posted yesterday that the 22H2 ISO would pull the update for 23H2. How did you do that? I'm sorry if I didn't understand or misreading your post.
Are you using supported or unsupported hardware? I tried it twice a few days ago by replacing the appraiserres.dll and it ran a bunch of updates, but still left me on 22H2. If you are using unsupported, what method did you use to update?
You're right. I'm kind of OCD about always getting the latest update, and find it challenging to keep this nearly 11 year old laptop updated. I just like to see if I can do it!
I'm still thinking it's possible I could get 23H2 from WU even with unsupported hardware. I installed 22H2 with the bypass instructions. A couple of weeks ago I got a large WU and it gave me the Copilot preview. I saw some on another forum say this was part of 23H2 and they would be rolling...
Absolutely, yes, that is the one I replaced. My assumption is that when the official ISO comes out will then be able to upgrade with the replacement file trick.
No dice. I used Winrar and replaced the appraiserre.dll with a blank file. Started the setup.exe and it went through all the steps, even updated my nVidia graphics driver, but the version is still 22H2. Will have to wait for the ISO that has 23H2 in it I suppose.
