  1. New Version of ExplorerPatcher

Same, as I say it seems to be crashing/reloading explorer repeatedly... as I understand it, it's been happening to those who upgraded to the latest Windows 11 build.
  2. New Version of ExplorerPatcher

Might have to give up on this. Users now finding that after they log on, it's "flashing white", basically explorer being loaded over and over until EP is uninstalled. Sadly it's overall added more hassle and frustration for everyone than just accepting they need to learn a new Explorer UI.
  3. New Version of ExplorerPatcher

Ah, stumbled across another sort-of-issue with that auto update batch file - the versions actually go backwards :) Installed version 22622.450.50.2 (7th August) Latest version 22621.608.51.3 (22 days ago) Because 22621 is less than 22622 currently it's not getting updated (still works though)...
  4. New Version of ExplorerPatcher

Hesitant to say because I keep jinxing myself but I think (just as I was on the verge of giving up) I have auto updating via the batch file working in my workplace environment. Redirecting the batch file output to a text file helped, as it identified a problem being that I was trying to execute...
  5. New Version of ExplorerPatcher

I thought we'd got automatic updating working (via the batch file and scheduled tasks) but seemingly there is absolutely no reliable way to do so. I was wrong about it working when scheduling the task as the user (I think it worked for me because I'm local admin on the test machine). If...
  6. New Version of ExplorerPatcher

Sorry to double post but seemingly the forum disables editing after some time. In terms of automating saltocean's batch file updater via Task Scheduler, I found that the variables the version checking uses don't seem to populate with the "run whether user is logged in or not" setting, they also...
  7. New Version of ExplorerPatcher

Brilliant, thanks again! I take it if we only want the latest general release and not the latest pre-release we could probably just change the URL to https://api.github.com/repos/valinet/ExplorerPatcher/releases/latest (?). (And probably remove the array selector, though technically it works...
  8. New Version of ExplorerPatcher

Not sure who that's directed at but already being paid a salary here - it's just impractical to go around 45 users every other week typing in an administrator password for them (plus no one likes their work being interrupted with "weird messages")
  9. New Version of ExplorerPatcher

Thanks for this, it's a step towards my wish of being able to install updates automatically for non privileged users (have this run in Task Scheduler at logon of user with highest privileges) The only remaining snag is the blank white screen that pops up for a bit each time which would really...
  10. New Version of ExplorerPatcher

Anyone have a good solution for updates on non-privileged accounts? We're using this at work to roll out Windows 11 without confusing everyone with the new UI. All well and good, but some of our certifications require us to have users running unprivileged accounts (i.e. no local admin rights)...
