When items are removed from the Quick Access folders are they also removed from the Home menu? If so, this would not be the solution that I am looking for.
Or would those folders still populate the Home menu/folder? This would be the closer to the solution that I desire.
@Brink: Is there a way in Win11 to "collapse" the "Home" menu analogous to collapsing the "QuickAccess" menu/folder in Win10? The "Home" menu listing in the nav pane can take up considerable vertical space.
Keep in mind that there are no files in the "IrisService" folder there are only subfolders. The following lines will copy the "folders" (in this particular case to the "Pictures\Camera Roll" folder...repath to suit...) and then open the destination folder in Explorer:
set...
True...the location of the "desktop" Spotlight background images is not in that folder...they are here:
C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\Packages\MicrosoftWindows.Client.CBS_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalCache\Microsoft\IrisService
BINGO !!! That found the folder path...and it is circuitous. Here is the containing folder:
C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\Packages\MicrosoftWindows.Client.CBS_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalCache\Microsoft\IrisService
(note that there is no "." between "Microsoft" and "Windows")
There are subfolders...
Thanks for looking. Unfortunately, the images contained in that folder do not match the spotlight images being used as the "current" Spotlight desktop backgrounds. Today's images include an image of "Stonehenge" (among others) which I cannot find anywhere on disk...at least not yet.
+1...same issue here. The Spotlight images used as "desktop" background images are not stored in the same location as the "lockscreen" background images. Has anyone found the location???
Thx for confirmation of similar behavior, I appreciate the response. As noted in my OP, I did use "Microsoft Print to PDF" to work around the issue.
Closing the entire browser to permit saving the file, while it may work, is not a useable solution unless it is a one-off save with no further...
