  1. System Backup to 2 drives. HOW?

Thanks for the replies. I MAY have this working as desired. Hasleo may be good, but I'd never be able to tell from this experience. In the future I'll need to do a much better job of defining exactly what I want the software to do, and not do.
  2. System Backup to 2 drives. HOW?

I’m not hooking up both drives simultaneously. I’d like to use ONE drive and switch the backup disk as needed. Is there some reason it’s SO difficult to take a couple disks, and use them for a rotating system backup? Isn't this what I should be getting from Hasleo Backup?
  3. System Backup to 2 drives. HOW?

This doesn’t seem like it should be this difficult – I has to be me and I’m missing something simple. Plain, ordinary Windows 11 PC. Removable HDD. Note: I was planning on just doing some cloud backup and not even MESS with “backups”, but was told I SHOULD be doing “system backups”. So now I...
  4. Moving to the "Cloud" for storage and backups?

Thanks a ton for all the feedback! It's helped solidify in both our minds that we need some layers of protection, but can (hopefully) still keep things "reasonable". Looks like I'll be doing a few things - adding a couple hard drives that get regularly swapped, and continue looking at cloud...
  5. Moving to the "Cloud" for storage and backups?

I have no doubt there are valid concerns about using the cloud for things, but, at this point the chances are good that it it's going to be something like MS365 or nothing 'cause I don't see this happening if we're screwing around with hard drives and creating backups and all that. And I'll...
  6. Moving to the "Cloud" for storage and backups?

I (we’ve) reached the point in life where swapping hard drives in and out of carriers for backups isn’t as much fun as it used to be. We’d like to put our 2 computers into an environment where we know the data and O/S are consistently backed up, available when needed, and managed as...
  7. Auto login on Windows (chrome or firefox)?

I had a feeling this might not be a trivial as I'd hoped! What has me confused is my wife, a very NON-technical person has gotten her laptop, in Chrome, to somehow go in at startup, start Chrome and calendar and be ready to do work. She CANNOT remember what she did and swears it was...
  8. Auto login on Windows (chrome or firefox)?

Version 24H2. This SEEMS like it ought to be simple, but. On my firefox desktop I want to click an icon on the desktop and have the browser go to the address, put in the username, NOT do anything with the password, then sit in the browser waiting for me to give it the password. So, I want to...
  9. How find what is slowing down shutdown?

My laptop - Dell 7740, Windows 11 Pro - is slow to shut down. Not sure when it started being slow to shutdown, but at some point it got slow (I THINK it was fine until the last Windows update). Is there some way to have windows record all the stuff it does at shutdown and show how log it's...
  10. Solved Items from the system tray missing

Well that's embarrassing... I don't recall any of the things I tried having me do the settings>personalization>taskbar - other system tray icons..... BUT, everything in there was turned off. What turned everything OFF? One day it was fine, overnight it rebooted for an update of something...
  11. Solved Items from the system tray missing

I have some items that normally sit in what I believe is the "system tray" - the thing on the right side of the taskbar where items like the eject media and Nvidia settings and such reside. They're now hidden and I have to open the hidden stuff to get at things. It's not the biggest problem of...
  12. Task Scheduler tasks that can be disabled?

Thanks for the reply. I have the Startup configured - there are only 2 things that start when the system does. Everything else is disabled.
  13. Task Scheduler tasks that can be disabled?

Which is why I"m NOT trying to get rid of the unnecessary garbage any more. I just ignore it.
  14. Task Scheduler tasks that can be disabled?

My only goal was to NOT have a bunch of unnecessary "stuff" running that uses memory, bogs things down, does things I don't want, or does things I don't use, and can always do something annoying, stupid or damaging. I'm OLD. I came from an era where designed and created efficient code that ran...
  15. Task Scheduler tasks that can be disabled?

Thanks for the information. I think I'll take the advice above, maybe disable a couple tasks I'm sure I won't need, and leave things alone... I figure I'm more dangerous in there playing around with no guide than the average bull in a china shop, so... I've got good backups, but I'd rather...
