I've just found a text message on my mobile,saying someone else may have recovered my act! BUT, it's a very old email,I think it's a virgin.net one,which I've not used in over 15 years,so should I worry about it? my main act uses a outlook email,and it also does not have the old virgin.net email...

I had this happen to me recently,what solved it for me was,when you goto shutdown,instead of using the menu option,press and hold the power button until the system shut off,the next time you shutdown via the menu you should be fine!

It doesn't make sense to me,either why it started or why doing that solved it,but it worked! Just another weird 'feature" of windows i guess

@antspants i thought you might find this interesting, out of curiosity i looked up the reddit post you mentioned,a poster there mentioned a possibility fix,which was when shutting the system down to press and hold the power button till it shuts off,on the next shutdown the error had stopped...

Thats what I always do,I always shut steam down by right click the icon bottom right and choose exit steam,have done for years,but the last few days it's thrown a wobbler!
