damn samsung was late to the game with their gen 5, couldn't wait and used a corsair drive instead

i forced it via the windows update assistant , installed fine. took about 15 minutes. have not noticed any difference so far

that is why your only getting the speeds your getting then. those external ssd's are designed for the thunderbolt ports.

are you using the thunderbolt USB ports? AKA usb 3.2.

turned updates on and it is fixed now

add me to the list, i just paused the updates and will wait to see what is posted here till i turn it back on

thanx for the help guys, clicked the X64 link in OP and let it run and restarted, WU still wanted to download it but once it hit 100% it cleared it off. all is well now.

same thing is happening to me, how do you fix this?

i took the same route yesterday, very fast and smooth update. only hiccup was after it was done doing the install it went to desktop and stopped, no restart at all. i had to manually restart the computer for it to finish installing. about the same time frame for me too.
