It's also unfortunate that I can't have jump lists for app files without also having to have all recent files show up in the start menu.

Good to know the feature isn't entirely gone. It does look like it's missing some hooks, for example if you open a file from within an app, it does not seem to get added to the list, only if you open the file from the file explorer.

Right clicking on an app in Windows 10 would present a list of recent files and the ability to pin commonly used files. Windows 11 seems to have removed this functionality without providing anything equivalent. This is a feature I use constantly every day and without something equivalent, I...
