Got a test preview of Office 2024 Pro LTSC from work for testing -- didn't know it even existed - but seems a lot of things only in office/365 since 2019 have been incorporated into this product.

for people who like to use MariaDB / MySQL databases remotely - even if you are on a Windows VM and the DB is on the Host system (that as far as the VM is concerned) is a remote system.
Note the MySQL db here is NOT MySQL from Microsoft but the equivalent to the now much more used...

And if you select the choose other options ---- use a device you will also get any Linux partitions whether on the same or other disks too -- even if they don't use sec boot.

That clears it up.
BTW using a separate wifi device INSIDE the VM works but you need to install the usb wifi adapter driver inside the guest then it acts just as a totally separate machine and ping to host and from host is fine -- but it's pointless using an extra device when not...
