  1. Backup Documents, Pictures and Videos

100%. When trying to get the Backup and Restore(Windows 7) to work, it doesn’t update any of the files I’m interested in and I have to revert back to that technique. Either I’m doing something wrong, or it just doesn’t work.
  2. Backup Documents, Pictures and Videos

I’ve never heard of it. Thanks.
  3. Backup Documents, Pictures and Videos

Most of us are not experts, but plane Jane users who want to ensure their documents, pictures and videos are backed up. I have Backer Upper, but would also like to have a second backup. I've tried the old Windows Backup and Restore, but it does not add new files and does not update old ones that...
  4. Backup Fail

When I last used FreeFileSynch, I ended up reformatting the SSD drive and using the program as described. Today, I wanted to do the same thing and it told me the files were corrupted. I used the Tools for that drive and it says it cannot fix the drive. I guess it's junk and I'll have to get...
  5. Backup Fail

Even mentioning RealTimeSynch is something new. It gets downloaded with FreeFileSynch, but its use is not covered. I guess I’m OK with doing it manually for now. I can always get into a more automated later. The help I’ve gotten here has been great. I can’t thank you enough.
  6. Backup Fail

If I add a new folder on the C-Drive, it works as I expect it to. Yes, each time I scan the external drive, it tells me there is nothing wrong with it. If I try to make a new folder on the D-Drive, no matter how I try to do it, it does nothing - a blue spinning circle shows up. Even though it...
  7. Backup Fail

I guess before I try anything else, I have to explain my new problem. I clicked on my D-drive on the left side of File Manager. I clicked the + sign at the upper left and chose New Folder so I could add the suggested folders to the D-drive so there is a destination for my files to go to. After I...
  8. Backup Fail

I guess I'm a little too ignorant of how the FreeFileSynch works. I can get things set up on the files I want to backup on the C- Drive, but don't know how to handle the external/ D- Drive. I can't leave it blank and just putting a D: isn't enough. What do I need to put in that "target drive" to...
  9. Backup Fail

That solution is more to my liking. I know this forum is full of people who are deep into computer “ stuff”, but many of us aren’t and appreciate a simple way of doing things. I was about to download Macrium, but decided I had better look for more information. YouTube has videos that aren’t...
  10. Backup Fail

Thanks for the error checking tip. It came back almost immediately and said it repaired the drive, but without an explanation. Better than a sharp stick in the eye, I guess. I'm glad you said I should scan drive anyway as it first came back saying it was unnecessary. It fixed something while...
  11. Backup Fail

It was One Drive that started all of my problems with Windows 11. In any event, when I took my machine to a shop to get out of the One Drive problem, the guy suggested that I do one backup using the standard Control Panel backup and another using the AOMEI Backupper just to be on the safe side...
  12. Backup Fail

In running the scan, it did find and fix a corrupt file. When I plugged in my external drive, I was immediately told it had a problem. I then told it to fix the problem and everything seemed to be OK. When I tried running a backup, it gave me the same error code again. I ran the scan now again...
  13. Backup Fail

I have been backing up my files using the included Backup and Restore as an addition to AOMEI Backupper. Yesterday, I got an error and it's 0x80070015. I don't know why it suddenly won't do a backup and don't understand what I need to do about this error code. Retries don't help. Thanks.
  14. Backup - OneDrive Issues

Sorry to be gone a few days. I couldn't get the tutorials and suggestions to work with my limited skills, so I took my machine to a local shop. The solution was simple, but the guy had to admit that he had to think about it for a good long while before it came to him. Even though I uninstalled...
  15. Backup - OneDrive Issues

When using file explorer, I have Desktop, Documents, Pictures and Videos. The path shown is C:\Users\John\One Drive\Documents. The same goes for the Pictures. Even though I uninstalled One Drive, the path still exists and it puts new documents and new pictures into the One Drive path. When I...
