The suggestions about don't solve the problem. Default browser and types of files should only apply if you're opening some kind of shortcut or link. But directly running the application should run the actual application.

I am getting this as well, this is seriously messed up. I can go directly to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application and double-click msedge.exe and it opens up Firefox.
