Click on Firefox - Opens Edge and Bing

I am using a Lenovo desktop running Windows 11 with Firefox as my browser. I was unable to log into American Express so I called them. They said I had to use Edge. I used Edge, but now when I click on my Firefox icon, it goes to Microsoft Bing.

The icon's Properties says:
Target "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" But it doesn't open Firefox.
How do I get Firefox back?

please try
settings > apps > default apps

find FireFox and then click the 'set as default' button.

Set the following items to Firefox... then restart Firefox.

In about:config ...make sure browser.shell.checkDefaultBrowser ...is set to False ...then restart Firefox.

    Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 15 years?
The suggestions about don't solve the problem. Default browser and types of files should only apply if you're opening some kind of shortcut or link. But directly running the application should run the actual application.

What is Ccleaner? Never heard of it.
I can't imagine that optimizing my PC would change what Firefox.exe does when it's clicked on.

"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
and press Enter?

Between this thread and the one with the opposite problem, it has become clear that Microsoft has pivoted to "let's just keep breaking things." There's no excuse for this one, MS

Perhaps this other thread will help you. Check the same two Registry Keys.

Clicking on Edge opens Firefox instead
