Thank you everyone. Mea culpa. My fault. I realized after I posted in a panic that I had had my mode set to dark and apps set to light -- like glasskutter said. Thanks for being patient with a forum noob. I'll also look into translucentTB. Sounds cool.

Why, oh why has Microsoft taken away the ability to change the taskbar colors in light mode?
I have always had my taskbar set to a medium blue. While I was checking out some new themes just for fun, Windows suddenly changed my taksbar to light grey

When I follow the tutorial so referenced and go to family.microsoft.com, the only person that shows up there is me. I don't see anyone else.

I always sign in to my computer with a Local Account. Over the holidays, with someone's help, my nephew signed in to my computer. I seem to be signed in...
