  1. App & Browser control section is completely missing from windows security center

No worries here. The output from the PS query that I posted -is- from a working system that does not have a issue. It does not have the Preview release KB5016691. at this star-date, KB5016691 is a preview & it should be noted is also a non-security update.
  2. App & Browser control section is completely missing from windows security center

Realizing that this thread originated many months ago. Plus it is easy to get lost since some people are on different Insider builds; others on regular releases. But just as a potential tip. There is a handy Powershell query that can help. Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.SecHealthUI for Windows 11...

@fg2001gf11F Just stopping by, to say, Thank you for your posts above, plus also your link to your last post on MS Answers. Bravo.
  4. Automatic Sample Submission is Off?

As concerns enabling automatic sample submission, applying this pair of Powershell cmdlets should take care if that. Set-MpPreference -MAPSReporting Advanced Set-MpPreference -SubmitSamplesConsent SendAllSamples

  6. Virus and Threat Protection turns off when I restart computer

Hi @Bree Can you export out the whole reg-key "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Spynet" It would help to review it in its entirety.
  7. Virus and Threat Protection turns off when I restart computer

One caution about DisableBlockAtFirstSeen = 0 That makes Blockatfirstseen ENABLED. The value of 0 on this means "enable" since this is a "disable" value-setting. Defender is known to have false positives with that setting enabled. I would leave out that whole line. Otherwise, I would have...
  8. Automatic Sample Submission is Off?

It 'may' be that there is some sort of 'metered' release. Perhaps some of you can run a manual pull for update at the TOP of the clock hour.
  9. Yellow triangle in Windows Security (Defender)

OK. The message is simply a nuisance.
  10. Automatic Sample Submission is Off?

Hi Ed. As you likely know, there are many different ways to try to get the latest Windefend. In a Elevated Powershell, Copy >> Paste this into the Powershell windowUpdate-MpSignature
  11. Yellow triangle in Windows Security (Defender)

@Wynona Thanks for the export. Indeed, your installation is using Fast startup. Lets make an adjustment & turn that Off. We will need to use a Elevated Powershell window. So remember the tip just above about "Windows tools". Start elevated Powershell. Take extra care as this line is...
  12. Yellow triangle in Windows Security (Defender)

Hello @Wynona We know there is a Known issue on this at MS with this build ( still). Also, this glitch is not any danger. Just an annoyance perhaps. My very initial guess had been that the glitch may be related to Mapsreporting. But that is not so. My 'suspicion' is that perhaps it may relate...
  13. Yellow triangle in Windows Security (Defender)

My last tip ( sadly) ....and as I noted before .... Does this installation have "FAST startup" set on this system ? If yes, then I would suggest to set it to OFF. see Turn On or Off Fast Startup in Windows 10 Fast startup is known to cause unforseen quirky effects in different security related...
  14. Yellow triangle in Windows Security (Defender)

Looking at the Blog for this Cumulative Update, this "issue" is still listed under "Known Issues" ( sorry to see that )
  15. Yellow triangle in Windows Security (Defender)

@Bree Do look at the content of the SecurityCheck report. There are 3 apps that need updates to the latest release version { Zoom, VLC Meida Player & Handbrake). There are 2 no longer supported apps listed. . The report shows that Microsoft Defender protections are running ( active). If you...
