  1. What's the deal with Home and This PC and what should I be using?

This makes sense, though we CAN customize This PC... and I like them being "hard configured" rather than pinned (which can be easily or mistakenly removed). I also like that with Winaero Tweaker, I can set a custom location AND a custom icon and label for the shortcuts I make.
  2. What's the deal with Home and This PC and what should I be using?

Well, turning Show All Folders off doesn't remove them, it just collapses them I thought.. and I'd rather not have what I don't need there at all.
  3. What's the deal with Home and This PC and what should I be using?

So with the latest Win11 builds, what's the point of the new Home location in Explorer and why would I use and customize that over This PC? I already use Winaero Tweaker to add custom locations to This PC. And, why is EVERYTHING nested under "Desktop" on the left pane. Here's what I've got....
  4. What are your favorite free tools for Win11 Deployment and/or Customization?

I'm either clean installing with the Microsoft media creation tool and a USB stick, or just debloating a pre-installed deployment.
  5. What are your favorite free tools for Win11 Deployment and/or Customization?

Hi all, I frequently set up new PCs for work. There are never more than maybe 2 of the same system or configuration as they have different uses. Some of them are MINIX mini-PCs and some of them are custom built desktops. Occasionally, there are random model laptops. My favorite thing to do is...
  6. What's your go-to method of cloning a system to multiple identical targets?

Hi all, I haven't needed to do this in a long time, but I do have experience with imaging on previous Windows versions. I need to build a system with all of it's programs and user preferences, and then deploy this to a dozen or so identical systems. While I have no problems making an image and...
  7. Solved Clicking on System Icons (WiFi, Sound, Time/Date, Power) Does Nothing

All - I figured this out. The two computers I had a problem with were both in-place upgrades from Windows 10. On those installations, I had Action Center disabled with Winaero Tweaker. Turns out the upgrade kept that setting and that breaks the system icon panels. I generally don't do...
  8. Solved Clicking on System Icons (WiFi, Sound, Time/Date, Power) Does Nothing

I uninstalled StartAllBack, re-did SFC and also ran the batch file from this site, and I still get no flyouts. Actually, I installed Win11 on another system too and that one also has the same problem...
  9. Solved Clicking on System Icons (WiFi, Sound, Time/Date, Power) Does Nothing

I did this batch file. I also tried turning those off and on and it didn't change.
  10. Solved Clicking on System Icons (WiFi, Sound, Time/Date, Power) Does Nothing

Hi all, I just upgraded to Windows 11. I also installed StartAllBack but I'm not sure if that's the issue or not, but clicking on the system icons doesn't show any flyout menus or options. I turned off the enhanced taskbar in StartAllBack and restarted shell but they still didn't work in...
