  1. Weird desktop dimming

FYI, turns out it was something related to power toys, i installed an update and it went away.
  2. Weird desktop dimming

I don't know if this is specific to 27723 or not, but after i logged in today, my desktop was severely dimmed and there was this weird quarter-oval shape in the top left corner. See attached. Anyone have any idea what this is?
  3. Insider Windows 11 Insider Canary build 27718.1000 - Oct. 2

FYI, if you're still having trouble upgrading, go into your bios and disable csm support, then upgrade. It worked for me.
  4. Insider Windows 11 Insider Canary build 27718.1000 - Oct. 2

still seem to have the lock up on reboot and fail with 0xc1900101 error. I hope they resolve this, this build expires in 11 days.
  5. Win Update KB5043178 Windows 11 Cumulative Update Preview build 26100.1882 (24H2) - Sept. 30

Probably, but there was a serious bug in the last canary that prevents installation, so i'm still stuck on 27686.
  6. Win Update KB5043178 Windows 11 Cumulative Update Preview build 26100.1882 (24H2) - Sept. 30

  7. error 0xc1900101 and 0x8007045b during Windows 11 Insider Preview 27695.1000 install

Ok, so I noticed that this is called out in the release notes. https://blogs.windows.com/windows-insider/2024/08/30/announcing-windows-11-insider-preview-build-27695-canary-channel/ Has anyone solved this problem? I'm also having issues with my keyboard being recognized (Razor Huntsman) on...
  8. Opinions on Windows 11 vs Windows 10?

in regards to settings, i haven't kept track of where any setting is in years, other than the windows update one. I just use search for everything i want.. 2 or 3 keystrokes and it's right there. Learn to use search for everything and you will never care if they move something ever again.
  9. Solved How can I gain available storage on an external drive?

While a boot drive may lose some space due to boot/recovery/etc.. patitions, an external drive would not have that issue. That's not to say there isn't overhead. the filesystem itself has some overhead, such as directory entries, journaling, etc.. but this is relatively small. Also, Windows...
  10. "C:\Users\name\BullseyeCoverageError.txt"

You can delete, it will probably return next time you open Unity though. So why bother?
  11. Looking for opinions on Microsoft Telemetry

If you're in the Windows Insider program, you must keep diagnostic telemetry enabled to receive Insider updates. If you're using released versions, then you can disable much of it. There are a few pieces of telemetry i disable, including the advertising, pen, and keystroke, app launches...
  12. Relocating folders?

It's *relatively* safe to do, however, there have been at least 2 times that I can remember where windows updates have wiped out the users home folder during updates when it was moved to another drive. It was a bug for sure, but if it's happened more than once, i wouldn't trust it.
  13. Norton vs competition

Uhhh... what? It doesn't, but it does?
  14. Direct X12 compatible low enc graphics cards.

The GT 1030 is about $50 cheaper than a 750 and can do 7680x4320@60 Hz and is generally a competent card if you're not gaming or mining.
  15. explorer in maximieren window go a little part to another Monitor

Looks like you've increased the size of your borders. When you maximize a window, the content area is maximized and the window frame goes offscreen, if another screen is there, it will go over to that screen. Normally this isn't a problem as the Windows borders are thin, but if you've expanded...
