if you just want to do an update you have to use the iso FROM INSIDE windows if you want to do an installation from scratch (deleting the previous installation) you have to boot the iso from the external pendrive

disconnect all the pendrives except the one you want to boot from

open a Notepad file, go to Settings (scroll wheel on the right), When starting Notepad>Open a new window

sir you can boot natively a VHD, just add an option to BCD pointing to it you need a BCD command (I don't remember) or use EasyBCD

it seems that only the audio icon in the bar does not work, as you can change the audio output device from Settings: restarting Explorer solves the problem
