I don't know much about Win 11 - I try to help a family member who has Win 11. She got a screen when she started the computer something along the lines of "it's time to complete installation of more things" and "backing up to cloud". I tried to take a screenshot of it but it wouldn't let me. The...
Not familiar with Webcatalogue Desktop. It's a collaborated facility between Fox News and Optimum.net (cable) as it uses the Optimum userid to enable the streaming.
Sorry - I haven't been able to get back here for a while. What now fails is a facility called "FoxOne". It's tied in to "Optimum Cable". It downloads a "FoxOne App" to the computer. When we go through all the steps to where it should run it fails trying to find/run the the app. It worked...
I really don't know Win 11 much but I try to help a family member who has it. Microsoft recently forced five updates on her computer over a few days and now something she used doesn't work anymore. I saw there is an "uninstall updates" function in Win11. Does this work properly and not mess up...
I display an MP4 file's properties and select details. I try to write in the Comments field but it just displays a blue field and doesn't open to allow entering anything. What do I need to do to get the Comments field to open for input?
I just got out of hospital and don't have strength to deal with Win 11 making things difficult. When I got new computer with Win 11 I managed to find how to turn off/disable One Drive. But now its coming up with security issues and says I have to backup computer to one drive cloud within 3...

I don't believe there is an overscan setting on the monitor, at least not that I've found in HDMI mode. As for the VGA connection, that is precisely what I have been trying and what doesn't work: PC HDMI output port -> HDMI adapter -> VGA cable -> VGA input port on monitor.

Thank you neemobeer, OAT and bobkn.
The Monitor combo is Toshiba 19LV506. The HDMI-to-VGA adapter is a Dell adapter. There are a lot of numbers & letters on the label but it looks like the model is DAUBNBC084u.
The reason I want to try the VGA is that it perhaps it would resolve the problem of...
Rollback_Jockey: password protected sharing is turned on. Does that mean I have to define a second account with a password on the Win 11 computer? If so, where do I use that?
Glasskuter: How and where did you do that? I already have the sharing on the computers set to full control for...
I have a new Win 11 computer and want to use Dell HDMI-to-VGA Adapter with my non-Dell combo monitor/TV unit. When I connect the HDMI cable I get a display but its too large for the screen (lose things at the edges) so I want to use the VGA connection (which I used with my old Win 7 computer...
Though I followed the instructions posted I still can't get credential Manager to work. Is there a way to disable the credentials requirement in Win 11 so that I could get the other computers on the LAN to access the Win 11 computer?
I added the Network icon to the Win 11 desktop, as you showed and made a shortcut to the Win 10 computer. But it made no difference. It sees it but still comes back with the same error message that \\win10computername can't be accessed.
I opened the Navigation pane on Win 11. It sees the Win 10 computer but when I try to open it, it says it can't access \\win10computername. But Win 7 computer has no problem accessing the Win 10 computer. And the Win 7 computer does not show up in Navigation pane on Win 11. But it does show up...
Thank you Bree for your time and clear description. However, when I tried to do that it does not work. I made a credential on Computer A. I put in the Computer B network address as it appears on the LAN (as confirmed in Map Network Drive) and the username of the Computer B user (who is the...
I understand this is an exceedingly novice request. I would appreciate someone kindly explaining in simple terms (or pointing me to a basic tutorial if it exists) how to use Credential Manager. I have found a few websites that describe it but do not tell me in a very simple and straightforward...
