On my Windows 11 PC I have Open Shell installed (I mentioned this in case it's relevant).
A few hours ago I had a dialog box prompt in Windows to install a 'Start Menu' update. I was in a hurry to get something done and just accepted the update, acknowledging it via the usual separate Windows...
I eventually got it working by connecting the printer via WPS. Just couldn't get the USB cable connection working, not even on another PC using Windows 10. However, it still worked via USB on a PC that already had the drivers installed. Go figure.
Thanks, that's very useful. I did in fact try that driver but I didn't know about the Canon Print app, etc.
Perhaps I should try removing all Canon-related printer drivers and software and start again?
Thanks, yes I tried that but no luck. Also tried adding it manually to no avail, the system just won't find it even though, as mentioned, it shows up in the Device Manager and the list of devices via the control panel (shown as an Unspecified Device).
Firstly I'll state that this same printer works fine on a Windows 10 PC.
What's happening is that it shows up in the Windows 11 device manager but Canon's software won't recognise it.
Funnily enough when I go into the Win 11 settings and prompt it to find USB devices that won't locate it...
