  1. Random Freezing caused by Ctrl+F, Causes "Active Directory Domain" Pop-Up

To clarify, its random. So pressing the two keys right now with 2 hands/finger typing, does not produce the issue. It works normally. But when the issue has happened (3 times so far), there's no way I was accidentally pressing all three keys at once, I can't even maneuver my fingers into that...
  2. Random Freezing caused by Ctrl+F, Causes "Active Directory Domain" Pop-Up

@johnlgalt oh okay, that at least rules out any problem there. So that's normal. No, pressing control key alone does nothing. Double tapping it focuses in on the mouse cursor though with a shadow. Probably normal windows thing.
  3. Random Freezing caused by Ctrl+F, Causes "Active Directory Domain" Pop-Up

Its a new laptop 1 week old. Just normal wifi windows updates, So past couple days, install updates I guess. Firefox. Havent tried other browsers. I just learned that pressing Windows key + Ctrl + F, is normally what brings up "Find Computers" and I can replicate it that way. So I see now what...
  4. Random Freezing caused by Ctrl+F, Causes "Active Directory Domain" Pop-Up

When I press Control + F to search something on a wep page, sometimes windows/browser freezes, then this pop up comes up about 20 seconds later. 2nd day in a row it has happened. It also brings up that "Find Computers" pop up at the same time as the error message, whatever the heck that is. Im...

  6. Remap Co-Pilot Key back to a "Ctrl" Key Using Power Toys?

Ive read and watched multiple tutorials, can not seem to get this to work. Is it not possible to remap the Copilot key to a control key? I have windows 11 pro and installed Power toys, tried pressing Co-pilot key for the selection Which comes up as F23.
  7. Laptop Refuses to Wake Up From Sleep. But Identical Unit does Wake up.

Oh I thought you were looking for logs of what it might have changed from the system reset, versus new issues that might pop up in the next few days. Unfortunately I had to return it yesterday at UPS (Sat was my last day), I had already created a replacement request last week after all my prior...
  8. Laptop Refuses to Wake Up From Sleep. But Identical Unit does Wake up.

V2 post reset: V2 Log Collect After Reset - Google Drive If I was checking the right folder, the system's log, I didn't see any embedded controller errors.
  9. Laptop Refuses to Wake Up From Sleep. But Identical Unit does Wake up.

So I did the windows reset while keeping personal files and apps, and..... sleep is now working normally! So it was a Windows 11 problem the entire time. The EC is not bad. Strange any ideas what it would have been? I reset so much stuff manually prior, and had run tune up software, nothing...
  10. Laptop Refuses to Wake Up From Sleep. But Identical Unit does Wake up.

Yeah, And that's partly why I'm thinking it's something I changed in group policy editor, which resetting default power plan options would not resolve, or don't think would.
  11. Laptop Refuses to Wake Up From Sleep. But Identical Unit does Wake up.

All right update, I tried it. Laptop still will not wake from sleep..... And after breaking 2 of the plastic lid clips in the process lol. (Despite watching several disassembly videos first and being super super careful, that was what I was afraid of. Removing the lid was a nightmare) I...
  12. Laptop Refuses to Wake Up From Sleep. But Identical Unit does Wake up.

yeah, So it seems like there's just one EC and it controls all those things.
  13. Laptop Refuses to Wake Up From Sleep. But Identical Unit does Wake up.

Oh, is there more than one embedded controller in a laptop? I thought it was just one piece of hardware or something called embedded controller.
  14. Laptop Refuses to Wake Up From Sleep. But Identical Unit does Wake up.

Oh okay. I Do not have the original laptop anymore I had to return that and I'm currently using the replacement unit. So I won't be able to test that 8(. Im planning on returning this unit for a free replacement, since I just found out Im still within the return windows (the 30 days reset...
  15. Laptop Refuses to Wake Up From Sleep. But Identical Unit does Wake up.

Is this the correct section? If so, there are several devices with that unchecked but it is NOT an option to check it. I tried unchecking the currently checked box "Allow the computer to turn off this device" but that does not let me enable the other box either. Its still greyed out. Not sure...
