Yeah the issue is with the old menu being forced via Vivetool. I really hope they'll add those resizing options for the start menu quickly because the new one is horrendous. On a 4k C5 TV, it takes up like half of my screen if not more because it wastes so much space on nothing.
Start menu and search don't work on this build if you're using the Vivetool command to disable the most recent fckass start that looks horrendous and takes up most of the screen. If you disable the Vivetool command and bring it back, it works, but this is unusably bad, so I'm skipping future...
I really have no idea why this happens since there doesn't seem to be a pattern, but the PC just hangs when waking from sleep on some attempts to wake it. I will click something to wake it up, and the fans will start running but there will be no display signal. There will also be a red light on...
Thanks for the suggestions! You're right about the chain of events, I just can't say for certain whether it was happening on 24h2 since I only spent a few hours with it, having issues with alt-tab black screen and the other stuff that's still unstable.
As for the suggestions, I am using Winaero...
I started getting this weird issue with the settings app after recently doing a clean install of 23h2 after trying out 24h2 (also happened there I think), where the settings app and its home page is loading. It can take a few seconds and it can also be stuck for like 20+, but it should never be...
Thanks! Both HWinfo and Diskinfo look ok from what I understand, here are the screenshots for both drives below.
I've actually checked out the Lexar download page while looking for firmware previously and I did find their SSD Dash tool, but I have no idea where to get the firmware update...
Sorry could you please explain the S.M.A.R.T thing and the BIOS device cleaning you mentioned? Is the cleaning supposed to wipe the drive or do something else with it?
I'm not familiar with either but as for the other stuff, BIOS is updated to the latest November version, and WD Blue tool says...
I have an Asrock B650M-HDV/M.2 and I've just gotten another NVMe since the mobo has 2 M.2 slots, so I wanted to expand the storage a bit. The board has a topmost Gen5 slot with a heatsink, and a Gen4 slot under the GPU that's just using one screw to hold the drive.
The issue is that the new...
Sorry just to clarify this further, I can still boot into Win10 by choosing the steps I mentioned in the OP with changing the BIOS boot order or through the F11 boot menu, that works.
The winload.efi errors only show up when trying to boot to an OS from the blue screen/advanced startup OS...
Thanks for writing out the steps, I downloaded EasyBCD and added the boot menu for Win10, but when rebooting into it I get the winload.efi error again but through a different screen this time, attaching the new error image below too.
I checked out the link for fixing the winload error but the...
So I have both Win11 and 10 installed on different SSDs on my PC, and at first, I couldn't boot from one to another through advanced startup as I was gettig the blue screen with the winload.efi error, the one from this image:
This screen also shows up often when booting to the other OS after...
I'm having an issue with many native W11 apps on the most recent update as they can launch slowly at first, taking about 2-4/5 seconds, and then they become fast for what seems like a random amount of time before getting slow again.
This constantly happens to Xbox Game Bar because it can take...
