  1. Help - I've broken my PC

It's only about 4.5 thousand miles. I'll pop itdown this afternoon. :-)
  2. Help - I've broken my PC

I feel so stupid! Because of the trouble I've been having I immediately thought it was a problem with the bios. I opened the case and found that the SATA cable had not been reconnected to the drive. As they say, always check the easy things first. Sorry to have bothered you.
  3. Help - I've broken my PC

It looks as though I spoke too soon! I went to save a file to the data disk and it doesn't exist. I looked in the bios and it shows SATA port 1 as being connected to the SSD as it should but SATA port 2 is shown as not installed. There doesn't seem to be a way that I can see to change it...
  4. Help - I've broken my PC

Well, it's fixed. When I spoke to the repair man he said that me updating the bios had somehow disassociated the hard drive from Windows and he would probably have to re-load Windows. Another option was to move the hard disk to another PC and then back to mine. This would link the hard drive to...
  5. Help - I've broken my PC

I've given up and taken it to the shop for repair. I'll let you know what happens.
  6. Help - I've broken my PC

I think the 2 drives shown in the previous Diskpart were the 2 external drives.
  7. Help - I've broken my PC

Thank you for your patience. I had forgotten that I had my 2 external drives plugged in to the back of the machine so I removed them. I re-ran Diskpart and it said there are no volumes. I ran wmic as in your latest video and it says No Instance(s) Available.
  8. Help - I've broken my PC

I made another SeaTools stick and it behaves exactly the same. So far, I have left it for 10 minutes. I shall leave it overnight and see what it is like in the morning.
  9. Help - I've broken my PC

I have tried to boot from the SeaTools stick but this is what I get. It seems to start but then gets stuck.
  10. Help - I've broken my PC

Thank you for trying to help me, FreeBooter. However, I am not seeing anything that resembles your video. If it makes any difference, disk C: on the PC is an SSD of 120GB and disk D: is a HDD of 1TB neither of which seem to correlate to the Diskpart listing. This is the responses I am getting:
  11. Help - I've broken my PC

Hi, Zbook. I have tried to follow your instructions but I fear I have insufficient knowledge to understand them. I have created a SeaTools memory stick but I am not sure what to do with it. I had trouble making the Windows ISO stick. The downloaded files, once extracted, wouldn't fit on to a...
  12. Help - I've broken my PC

Hi, FreeBooter. I tried to follow your video but I got different responses from my PC. I have attached a picture of the results.
  13. Help - I've broken my PC

I'm not sure if you can help me as I don't think this is specifically a Windows 11 problem. I have been loading software on my new PC. I successfully loaded MS Office 2003 and then started with Pinnacle Studio 19. PS19 had a couple of issues with the virus protection so I turned it off and...
  14. Solved Adding users to Windows 11

Thank you all for your replies and for trying to help me. I have received a message from the Microsoft Community: Hold down Windows + R keys, then type in netplwiz and hit enter. When launched, click on "Add", and you can add from there. If the new user has a Microsoft account, you can type in...
  15. Solved Adding users to Windows 11

I upgraded to Windows 11 by using the ling in Settings-Windows Update. I'm not sure what kind of account I'm trying to add, I'm just doing the same as I did on my Windows 10 Laptop. I'm using Settings-Accounts-Other Users- Add Account and then I get the attached screenshot. If I go to...
