I'm not sure if you can help me as I don't think this is specifically a Windows 11 problem.
I have been loading software on my new PC. I successfully loaded MS Office 2003 and then started with Pinnacle Studio 19. PS19 had a couple of issues with the virus protection so I turned it off and completed the installation of PS19. I then went to re-enable the virus protection but some of it wouldn't turn back on. There seems to be a conflict with the PS19 drivers and it suggested I go to Windows Update and make sure that everything was updated. There were a great many update available (many for Office 2003 as it is so old). One of the updates was called something like Acer Firmware Update and I believe it is this one that is causing the problem.
I now get a different splash screen but it then says that it can't start because the boot drive is inaccessible. I have looked at the bios but can't see anything obviously wrong. The automatic repair is unable to fix it and I don't know what to do next.

Find several flash drives that you can format.

Find a working Windows computer.

Create tools that can be used on the problematic computer.

Flash drives can be repurposed as needed.

1) On the working Windows create a bootable Sea Tools flash drive:

SeaTools Bootable | Seagate US

https://www.seagate.com/content/dam...es/seatools/USBbootSetup-SeaToolsBootable.zip

2)Find a flash drive that you can format (> or = 8 GB)

3)On the working Windows computer create a new bootable Windows 11 Media Creation Tool (MCT) (Windows 11 iso):

4) On the problematic computer run the bootable Sea Tools Long Generic test (all drives) > take pictures > post a share link into this thread using one drive, drop box, or google drive

5) After posting the drive test share link indicate the status of the bootable Windows 11 MCT

Additional steps pending the Sea Tools Long Generic test results.

Hi, Zbook. I have tried to follow your instructions but I fear I have insufficient knowledge to understand them.
I have created a SeaTools memory stick but I am not sure what to do with it.
I had trouble making the Windows ISO stick. The downloaded files, once extracted, wouldn't fit on to a 16GB stick. The Install file, although showing as around 5GB, was too large for the stick. I put a 32GB SD card into a USB adaptor and managed to load the files. I think these will be only of use once I fix the current problem and have full access to the PC again. Is that correct?

The problem with files not fitting is probably because the 16GB stick is formatted as FAT32. The largest individual file must be 4GB or smaller.

The easiest way to get a bootable USB windows installation drive is to use the Media Creation Tool. From a downloaded ISO, the Rufus tool is another way. (I don't use either, myself. I extract the files from the ISO, and use the DISM utility to split install.win into files smaller than 4GB. I don't really know what I'm doing, but, luckily, I don't need to.)

I have no idea what the problem with your PC might be. I wouldn't expect a BIOS update to cause the Windows launch to fail. I'd expect that a BIOS update failure would "brick" the PC altogether (making it completely unbootable).

If it's just a problem with Windows, a repair install may fix it. That allows you to keep all files and installed programs, although you may need to re-install some of the programs if they don't run properly. (Unlikely.)

In this video, i will guide on how to repair EFI System Partition (ESP), if the system partition has been corrupted, you can use BCDBoot command to recreate the system partition files by using new copies of these files from the Windows partition.

Thank you for trying to help me, FreeBooter. However, I am not seeing anything that resembles your video. If it makes any difference, disk C: on the PC is an SSD of 120GB and disk D: is a HDD of 1TB neither of which seem to correlate to the Diskpart listing.
This is the responses I am getting:

@Thunderace7, my solution is for booting back Windows 11 to resolve BSOD error you need to follow @zbook instructions.

Please download and run SeaTools for Windows.

Before the installation begins you will be prompted to either Decline or Accept the terms of the installation, click on I Accept.

1. Once the installation begins SeaTools for Windows will search for HDDs and SSDs on your computer.

2. Detected Drives will list the HDDs and SSDs found. Place a check mark in the drive box you want to run the scan on. This should be the drive that has the operating system installed on it, this is usually C: drive.

3. You will see Basic Tests toolbar above Detected Drives, move the mouse pointer over this to open the test options. Please click on Long Generic Test

4. This will start the scan. When the scan is complete you will see the result under Test Status , please post the results in your topic.

5. The test will indicate either Pass or Fail. Post the results of the scan in your topic.

6. Click on Help, then click on View Log File. If the scan failed take a screen shot of the Log File and post it in your topic.

Run Seagate SeaTools

SeaTools Bootable provides a basic suite of diagnostic utilities in an environment independent of your installed operating system. This will allow you to test, diagnose, and possibly repair your hard drive, even if your operating system environment is inaccessible.

Please download and use the SeaTools Bootable to create a bootable USB that you can use to diagnose hard drives and monitor SSDs.

The flash drive must be at least 256 MBs but no larger than 32 GBs.

Use SeaBoot_11-18-2019_RC5.usbBootMaker.exe to create bootable USB.

1. Insert the SeaTools USB device and reboot or power on your computer.

2. After SeaTools loads, the Drive List will show different storage devices in your system. Select the drives you would like to test.

3. The menus provide an array of diagnostic tests. Select the test you would like to perform on the selected drives. Please click on Long Generic Test. Long Generic Test scans the entire drive for defects. It will take a long time to complete. Because this test reads every sector on the drive, the amount of time required will depend on the speed and capacity of the disk drive. The highest capacity drives often take 3 to 5 hours per terabyte to complete. At any time, feel free to Cancel the test without harming the drive. Long Test is completely data safe.

4. The test will indicate either Pass or Fail. Upon completion of running the diagnostics, the test results will be given. A log for each device is automatically saved if you have booted from a USB device. Test results are automatically saved in a log file with a file name based on the drive serial number. Post the results of the scan in your topic.

Thank you for your patience.
I had forgotten that I had my 2 external drives plugged in to the back of the machine so I removed them. I re-ran Diskpart and it said there are no volumes.
I ran wmic as in your latest video and it says No Instance(s) Available.
