Wonderful, that solved my problem! I have stopped using cobian backup because it wasn't being updated anymore but now I have discovered that they have a new product, cobian reflector. Thanks so much :)

Thanks again, AOMEI seems to do the same thing as Acronis, that is create backup files in a special format that I cannot easily open from other devices. That's why I am looking for a backup software that creates zip files.

Thanks, it's just that I do not wish to sync my harddrive with onedrive because of the problems I have experienced in the past but rather just use onedrive as a one-way backup.

Hi - and thanks for considering such a stupid sounding question :) I used to sync with onedrive but ended up with a mess of outdated or already deleted versions being synced back from the cloud to my computer. Now I have stored my files on D and would like to back them up oneway to onedrive...
