  1. AMD GPU Partitioning on Win 11 Hyper-V machine

Left is the VM and right is the Host. Please note the VM Driver date is 2006 and the Host date is 2023. Not sure of the implications of this, Probably have to ensure that the driver files are in C:\Windows\System32\HostDriverStore\FileRepository\ and not in C:\Windows\System32\
  2. AMD GPU Partitioning on Win 11 Hyper-V machine

Ok, I managed to fix the issue by pretty much deactivating the Integrated graphics card, which is not the best solution, BUT from what I read around it's not really possible to manually select the VMGpuPartitionAdapter, as it takes the first one available , which in my case is the integrated...
  3. AMD GPU Partitioning on Win 11 Hyper-V machine

I came across that link but didnt help; will look again more closely. I think the problem is that i have 2 GPUs, the integrated and the dedicated one. I can only see the Integrated one, i assume that the drivers of the dedicated one were not copied over, or another issue
  4. AMD GPU Partitioning on Win 11 Hyper-V machine

Hi everyone! I've created a virtual Win 11 Pro install with Hyper-V and want to dynamically share GPU resources with the VM I followed this guide: However, it refers to Nvidia GPUs and while i followed the instructions to the letter and copied over the files from system 32 starting with...
  5. Forcing software to be installed in a particular location OR running in sandbox

Thanks hdmi. Tried Sandboxie but the installation doesn't work on it for both. I assume because they are built with Electron: running the install file just takes the user to the app after a few seconds. All data is installed C:\Users\User\.cache and in AppData. I managed to install Windows...
  6. Forcing software to be installed in a particular location OR running in sandbox

As I mentioned in the first post, it is IMPOSSIBLE to do custom installs since the software does not allow to change the installation destination. As mentioned here, there are others seeking to do this: Installation on Windows - Changing default install directory · Issue #3 ·...
  7. Forcing software to be installed in a particular location OR running in sandbox

I know what you mean, by these two do not have the option to choose install location. A potential solution I came across however quite complicated and not familiar with is Containers, such as docker. Is there a better solution or avenue I could investigate?
  8. Forcing software to be installed in a particular location OR running in sandbox

Hi! I want to play around with large language models and image generation, and two of the beginner friendly software solutions that i came across are LM Studio(👾 LM Studio - Discover and run local LLMs) and Pinokio (👾 LM Studio - Discover and run local LLMs) The problem is that these will only...
  9. Solved A file is 'stuck' in quarantine

The partition with the OS is pretty clear - visible in My computer, among other things. But I ran it nonetheless and got an additional piece of interesting info: osdevice ramdisk=[C:]\boot\macrium\WinREFiles\media\sources\boot.wim,{ramdiskoptions} Seems that's a special type of...

Thanks Brink! Then I won't go through the hassle and risk of changing them
  11. Solved A file is 'stuck' in quarantine

I found an article: https://www.digitalcitizen.life/command-prompt-fix-issues-your-boot-records/ And it shows the same letters and volumes as it does to be when in CMD at boot. I wonder if i should follow the guide and remap/repair the volumes even though i have NO PROBLEM booting or anything...
  12. Solved A file is 'stuck' in quarantine

Went back in Command Prompt at Boot and ran disk part then list volumes and got the same incorrect volume and letters to the drives. But I noticed also that a DIFFERENT computer name appeared: MININT-T8M... etc A bit of googling revealed that it's a Minimum Windows NT - It is a preinstallation...
  13. Solved A file is 'stuck' in quarantine

This is what it looks like when in windows: This blurry pic i took when i was in Command Prompt at Boot It seems that in Windows everything appears to be correct, BUT the letters are reversed only in Command Prompt at Boot, and don't know why/how this could be the case. I did not assign...
