Thanks for your reply, @FrancoDT. Which brand router do you have? Mine's a white AT&T router and I have fiber optics if that makes a difference.

AT&T has gotten sloppy with their installations of late. My SIL is a former employee, and he can't get them to fix the sloppy lines from the box to his house!

Yep, the audio feedback . . . Thing is, I believe it's possible to only allow online students to ask questions via chat, raise hand, or reaction, which can most likely eliminate the audio feedback. My inclination is to allow questions via chat only, at least in the beginning.

There's an app, (TeamViewer?) that will allow me to remote into a student's computer (with permission of course) and straighten things out for them.
