Today's Earth Day Google doodle used an image from Iceland for the second O in GOOGLE:
Vatnajökull National Park, Iceland. Established as a national park in 2008 after decades of advocacy, this UNESCO World Heritage Site protects the ecosystem in and around Europe’s largest glacier. The mix of volcanoes and glacial ice produce rare landscapes and flora.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven below to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro.

In spite of having some volcanic problems around Xmas time -- fortunately now being solved as is always here with neighbours etc being always helpful -- we're far too far away from the problem though although as a holder of a private pilot with a PPL I'm happy also to do what I can if required.

Thanks everybody -- we are proud of our small and highly democratic Island -- and a solid NATO member too -- but we also aren't immune to some dubious politicians either.

We also are keen members of the EFTA area and Schengen -- why on earth the Brits want to retreat to their own island, leave the EU ( biggest trading block on the planet) and get increasingly insular is something nobody here could ever understand. But's that's up to their own electors so what can I say.

We're all following Donald Trump's various Court cases with interest -- the US constitution seems even though tested almost to destruction far beyond things ever dreamt on by the "Founding fathers" seems to be still even in C21 robust enough -- interesting though of a US presedential candidate has to campaign from inside a jail cell.

Anyway this isn't a political forum

so 'Nuf said -- and to anybody who wants to visit our little country --more than welcome -- please bring plenty of US $'s or €'s and also don't come in huge cruise ships -- govt is ensuring now maximum size of those vessels allowed in --forget those giant Florida based huge Carnival vessels.

Good evening, folks, family, and fur babies.

I've had ups and downs for so long that I'm wondering if I'll ever actually recover. Shot in the rear end Friday, good day and a half, then back to screaming humongous pain! Called doc this morning and his nurse told me I had a couple days more for the shot to kick in! Placebo effect for the good day and a half???

At any rate, a couple hours after I talked with her, I began to improve once again . . . Not full bore improvement, but enough that I've not had any real pain for the rest of the day, and I can get to the necessary room and back, fix an oatmeal bowl ready for water to microwave in the morning, make coffee in the Keurig, etc.

Helllllllllllp! Somebody get me offen dis roller coaster!

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven below to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven below to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.
