So glad I upgraded my machine back in October. My DDR5 RAM (6000CL28 32GB) was £117. Which I thought was a bit steep at the time (given that I bought 32GB DDR4 for around £90 a couple of years ago) but okay, it's an upgrade after all. Same kit is now ca. £180 but out of stock everywhere.

In case anyone else arrives here as I did, I have an RME audio interface, which is USB 2.0 with custom drivers and RME's advice - certainly for AM4 and maybe this applies to AM5 also - was to connect the device to USB ports that were connected to the CPU.
I'm about to upgrade to the B850...
Turned on 'Get the latest updates as soon as they're available' and 25H2 appeared. Installed, rebooted, turned off 'Get the...'.
No significant difference that I can see (or, more importantly hear) so far.
Originally I used a Windows 10 iso on a USB stick. Nothing out of the ordinary. Seems an odd question!
I don't use Realtek audio, but I do use USB audio interfaces and there were many reports of 24H2 borking people's audio interfaces/DAWs, hence my waiting.
I haven't had any problems with 24H2...
Hi all, I read that Microsoft have fixed the audio issues in 24H2, so I want to give it a try, seeing as 23H2 is EOL in the next month or so.
However, the target release policy I set to "23H2" stubbornly refuses to go.
I've deleted the reg keys and rebooted, but Windows Update still reports the...
Lots of reports across the internet of 24H2 breaking MIDI controllers' functionality, also audio interfaces - even those from RME (who have arguably the best interfaces and associated drivers on the planet). I'm on 23H2 so currently unaffected, but wanted to know if anyone who had been affected...
Does anyone happen to know whether this KB has fixed broken audio & MIDI? There are some reports that it has, but it would be handy to have some assurance from the good folks on here. Thanks!
Mine still says 'ticked'.
Interesting that people talk about this being a bad translation into 'British English', when it is, of course, just a bad translation into 'English'. 🏴
FWIW Windows 10 also did this. I.e. had an arrow next to the folder icon, then when you click it, the arrow disappears if no subfolders are present.
It's a bit annoying I guess, as it suggests there are subfolders when there aren't.
Do you have Core Optimization on for your Ryzen?
The only two times I got WHEAs were 1 - a faulty CPU and 2 - too low a value for CO in the BIOS. In the latter case the Event Viewer contained the detail of which core was erroring, so I could up the CO value for it.
Of course, there are other...
Bizarre - I just rolled back to the Realtek audio drivers (the ones in the update were MS ones), rechecked Windows Update and those driver updates now don't show up.
