1080p monitor resolution if i change only text size will it affect 1080p movies streaming or games

Accessibility - text size i made 160..will it affect my 1080p monitor while i watch movies and play games at 1080p.. will it keep 1080p resolution for videos ? while keeping text size 160 i applied in accessibility ? hope you understood what i meant..

Probably not.... but there's an easy way to find out. Try it.
If it changes things other than just the text size... just undo the change. :-)


I just changed my text size to 200%. Then opened a movie in VLC media player on my 1080p TV.

The text in the media player menu got bigger, but the movie and the subtitles IN the movie didn't change.
In other words... it "just" changes text size. It doesn't alter resolution.

If you want to make the screen image bigger... use Accessibility > Magnifier, instead.

Yeah i'd imagine it would purely be text, As ghot said, It has nothing to do with resolution, Most games have accessibility settings in order to allow you to do this on a per game basis, Movies on the other hand, Might need to change the text size for subs via the app you use for movies etc.

I have a 4K monitor and I have to set the screen to 150% in order not to squint at it. I have no issues running videos or games in a normal type resolution. Everything that is not text is normally sized.

Except for this one stupid game which insists on spanning one and a half monitors. Grrrrr.

Mine is also set at 130% and when I stream to my external monitor, all videos are at 1080P. so, only text is affected.

150 is the standard and recommended, I believe most if not all should auto set to 150 once it realizes its 4k. If you have to set it manually..thats unusual. 125 is the default for 1080p, However, I do believe that screen size may have something to do with it, However on my 27inch and my 65inch tv. its defaults to 150

Well, it might have defaulted to 150% and I'm just not remembering the procedure correctly. It's been a while.
