Hi there,

Hope all are well.

When I connect a storage device via Type C adaptor I see 2 as shown in the attachment. Any ideas why and how do I fix it.

Hoping to hear from you experts.

I've run into the same thing before. When you plug in a drive via USB-C, sometimes Windows shows it twice in File Explorer. It's usually because it appears once under "This PC" and again under "Removable Drives" in the navigation pane. There's a registry tweak that can clean that up if it's bugging you. But honestly, it's just a visual quirk—doesn't affect how the drive works.

Also, if you're using a USB-C hub or adapter, some of them can cause the drive to mount oddly. Might be worth testing with a different cable or port just to rule that out.

Thanks again I completely agree. Retired MD, thought windows was simpler, but I found medicine to be far easier.
