I posted this in the 24H2 release thread. Posting here to see if anyone else is in the same boat.

For >1.5 years, I've successfully used WireGuard 0.5.3 (the official WireGuard client) to connect a full tunnel back to my Ubiquiti UniFi console. This was initially a UDM-SE, but now I am using a UDM Pro Max.

On May 22, Windows 11 offered a preview update for 24H2. I installed it. Immediately after installing the update, WireGuard would no longer tunnel traffic. It says things are connected, but I cannot access any internet connectivity through it.

Things I've tried:
  • Uninstall the update
  • Uninstall and reinstall WireGuard
  • Delete the client information from my router and create a new client connection (with new config files imported into WireGuard client)
  • Reboot router
  • Use system restore to go back to the day before the 24H2 update
  • Reset network settings
I'm at a loss here for what's going on. Evidently 24H2 changed network settings/drivers/config in such a way that uninstalling the update does not reverse the change.

I am able to use UI's WiFiman to connect to my console through Teleport (which functions based on WireGuard), but I cannot get the WireGuard 0.5.3 app to function at all. ExpressVPN also works without a problem.

Sorry no one has answered your thread. TBH I have no working knowledge of Wireguard and little with VPN in general. There are other reports on the web that 24h2 broke Wireguard. It appears Wireguard will have to fix their app to work with 24h2.
At this point it is up to you to weight your options as to what is most important to you - have 24h2 or a working Wireguard.
If having wireguard takes priority over 24h2 uninstalling the update should have put you back to 23h2. Correct?? You can either restore an image of 23h2 (if you have one) OR try a repair install on 23h2. Repair Install Windows 11 with an In-place Upgrade Tutorial

If Wireguard does not make their app compatible with 24h2 you will have to run 23h2 until such time they do. That be the case, your will need to pause your windows update to prevent the 24h2 update from automatically installing.

I've emailed the WireGuard team but have not received a smidgen of a reply. :(
