6. Are these two forums connected with a Crossover cable?

Unless I am blind, it says TenForums and ElevenForum i.e. other eay round.

This has been discussed years ago. The answer is very simple. The domain name ElevenForums had been registered by somebody not related to these forums, presumably gambling they could onsell it at an inflated price to site owner.

The site owner refused and simply registered domain without a trailing S.

As Deanna Troi famously said to Data whilst he was trying to rationalise inexplicable cat behaviour "Sometimes, a cat is just a cat".

Yeah, I heard that a while back also, someone got the rights to Eleven Forums before it came out & wanted a good amount of money for it. John refused to pay what he was asking & went with what we have now.

I remember in the early 2000's, someone we knew registered the domain DonaldTrump.com. She got a call from one of his lawyers asking what was up with that, she said nothing & they let it go. She didn't pay the renewal fees & that domain went up for grabs. Had she hung on to it, who knows, she might have gotten some money for it.

There was a domain registering frenzy back in the late 90's/early 2000's, people getting all kinds of names such as toiletpaper.com, vitamins.com, etc,. everything imaginable. All with the intent to sell them to a company that wanted them. Some like the owner of weather.com did make a good amount of money when they sold, however about 2/3 just fizzled with no interest in them.

One of the weird ones that came out of this, if you go to whitehouse.com, it takes you to a porn site. Yep, a porn company bought that for a good price from the owner.

I'd never noticed that - I did the logos to match the domains we had, but the navbar text is whatever came as default.
