Acronis Failing backups since upgrading to True Image 2025

Hello All

Been working with support for over 2 weeks now, since around 8/3, and no where near solving it. None of my 3 PC's on the subscription will backup

Each say Last Backup has stopped once gets to the end, then does 5 incrementals in a row, then says last backup has failed

Tried to schedule another tech session with Acronis support, and now that keeps failing with communication error lol, please try again later

Preparing for Clean install on PC 2 Gaming Laptop as a test, if it fixes it, then great, if still acts the same, then i give up lol, and just waits for a Fix from Acronis i guess.

((I should've just stuck with Macrium Home Edition after all lol))

Wasted $74.99 yet again, as i bought this subcription for Acronis once before in 2021 or 2023 lol, and had issues then as well guess i never learn, but this time i am learning, as if its a bug with the program where the heck is the patch to fix the thing.

Had Techs do remote sessions on 8/3, 8/6, and took the screenshots, and logs, and i'm like ok now get a fix out lol, there shouldn't be any more need for Level 2 Expert support to Remote into system lol, but if i could get next support session scheduled they wanted to use zoom

Even had me run a long long chkdsk on my Western digital 8TB drive lol--no problems was found lol

Yes i tried uninstall of just Acronis and reinstall--did not solve it

Open to any other suggestions if anyone has any though lol

I used Acronis for years, but then it got bloated and expensive.
Can't say for sure... but it looks like Macrium is headed that way as well.

At least Macrium fixes the bugs quickly. ^^

Note: Hasleo is Chinese software, so I wouldn't let it connect to the internet. ^^

Scan it at Virustotal... install it, and quickly block it in your firewall.
You need an internet connection, until it's installed. :/

Well dually noted on that software

All i want is a reliable backup software that works lol at this point

All the troubleshooting, and all the chkdsks ran lately, and all the support sessions so far this month lol, getting tiring lol

Sure i got a bit excited and did the Windows 11 Home to Pro Upgrade via MS store app, but that shouldn't affected the other 2 Household systems for there backups to say the same message as main desktop--believe that was on 8/4/2024, in middle of trouble shooting Acronis lol, don't think that had anything to do with it, or i hope not

((might do a clean install on Big Machine soon, just not sure exactly when on that as yet))

I had trouble completely removing Acronis. So I just did a clean install, and then only installed Macrium.
But their pricing is getting a bit crazy, so I may switch to Hasleo myself, one day.

All I really care about in backup software is... backup/restore, bootable PE media, and encrypted backups.

I really miss Norton Ghost 2003.

Hasleo is very, very easy to use.
I’ve been using Windows 7 Backup & Restore since Windows 7, it’s never failed me. I have been concerned that they might actually remove it at some point (been saying they will for years)
So I went on a buying spree buying all the backup software I could test.

Hasleo is free and so far all the tests and restores I have done have been fast and without a hitch. (They sell other products)
It also has a handy boot menu that can be activated or deactivated, that will show the Hasleo or Windows 11 boot options for whatever time you set it to show for.
5 seconds and then boot to Windows is handy. It removes the need to use a USB to boot to.

In that beloved cartoon of yours, the guy on the right is holding a briefcase the thickness of which is just a dead giveaway as for how much useless bloat he is still carrying around with him.

I only need to make an image of my Windows partition like maybe a few times per year so if, for example, the SSD suddenly breaks, I can avoid getting forced to do a clean install of Windows which causes all settings and installed apps to be lost. It would be a real Has(s)le(o)...

That's why I only use the bootable media of Acronis True Image. Its main important characteristic is that, each time after I mention it on the forum, it [the bootable media] immediately gets confounded with the Acronis True Image software package itself. I don't know why that is. Maybe it's because the difference between a bootable ISO file and a desktop application is being over-technical.

Either way, this ISO file is much less than 800MB in size, and I have moved it onto a Ventoy-formatted flash drive so it takes up 0 bytes on the laptop's internal SSD. On the flash drive, Ventoy takes up 32MB if we can ignore the small overhead that results from the FAT32 partition that it uses to do its job. And I have completely uninstalled the Acronis True Image desktop application after I used it to build this bootable ISO file. And also verified (twice) that this desktop application was uninstalled completely with none of its services still present on the system.

There used to be a time when people were having trouble getting it completely removed. Like, 7 years ago or something like that. And that could easily be prevented by 1/ using the free-to-download Linux-based bootable media of Acronis True Image to make an image of the Windows partition before 2/ deciding to go ahead and install the desktop application that makes it possible to 3/ build the WinRE-based or WinPE-based (or both) bootable media and finally 4/ use that to restore the image from step 1 to completely remove the desktop application and to verify that the bootable media works.

Personally, I like non-bloated, well functioning software. But that's just me.
I think Acronis is past it's prime for home use.

As I said above... I used it for years, many years. After the 2010 version, which I had to retire in 2020, Acronis, in my opinion, just... lost their way.

Its gotta be a bug with the Acronis Software itself, idiot me reinstalled it hoping it was fixed on Completely Clean Install on Gaming Laptop (PC 2) and of course it remains lol--just my luck lol

Well 1gig Internet does come in handy, started that task at 8:30PM, and finished pretty much, except a few minor little programs to go yet, which i'll tackle tomorrow i think lol

well might shutdown PC 2 (Gaming Laptop soon) i've done all i can tonight to try to get it to work right

Guess if Little less powerful PC can finish up a clean install that quick, imagine when i do Main PC it will be just as quick or quicker with 2.5Gig Lan port built in.

Well maybe i'll replace this Western Digital My Book with a slightly smaller External drive--not sure which yet though.

Drive should be in good condition it passed Western Digital Utlities extended test

I'm at a loss what else to try

Please read my post before hitting the reply button. One of the reasons why I don't use Macrium Reflect is because it has too much bloat.

I don't care if you only use the bootable media or not.
After 2010 version, which doesn't work on W10 or W11... Acronis went off the beam.

Macrium is headed that way as well.

One program just can't be made to do everything... well.
It's not just backup software either, most long running 3rd party software ends up like this.

I once again feel it necessary to remind you that I am NOT the OP.
If you want to say something to that person feel free.

Anything in this Chkdsk log i have to worry about on Drive P: Western Digital My Book 8TB (Primary Backup drive currently) That took about almost 24 hours to run and finish, its cooler in RL now, so i'm willing to run again if need be
