I used Acronis backup software a while and found it poorly supported and engineered. It was very hard to uninstall all traces of it. Macrium Reflect is a superior product and better supported.

I found it to be very reliable back then.

The other physical drives won't help you if the drive that fails is the boot drive. You can't boot without it.

If the boot drive fails then replace it with a new drive, boot with ATI rescue flash drive, and restore the boot drive image to the new drive.

You got that completely backwards. I love Macrium for the fact that I can recommend it to those specific people who come asking for my advice, yet always refuse to listen. It saves me the time and effort of having to keep explaining how to use the bootable Rescue Media ISO file of Acronis True Image. Kind of like Steve Jobs selling mp3 at his office and listening to vinyl records at home. Strange analogy, I admit. But actually it does fit...

This thread has been going on "Ad Nauseam" -- there's 2 zillion and one ways to back up systems -- Macrium for most "typical" users is simple, easy and it works and I'd probably correctly guess the majority of forum users use it too - even the freebie version. I often run Linux Host machines -- gparted and dd also work -- also other partition managers can clone / copy partitions etc.

So can't we PLEEEEEEEESE DOG MUZZLE THIS THREAD.

The GUI is overcomplicated enough for it to keep causing a lot of confusion to many. So much so, being able to see that this is true is what's easy. Less easy is being able to also see that reliability is not on par with that of dd for Linux.

It always happens when macrium is the subject point hahaha, You'd think half this forum had a sponsorship from them, I swear my razer products, Dont see me creating polls and umpteen threads about why its better than every other brand( Which it isn't its personal preference xD!) I see more people fighting for macriums name than you do fighting for real stuff that actually matters¬

Macrium works well, I have 3 PCs, I don't see a 4 pack home license now, 70 hoops a PC adds up a bit.
