This tutorial will show you how to add or remove the Set as desktop background context menu for all users in Windows 11.
You can change your desktop background in Windows 11 to be a picture, solid color, a slideshow, or Windows Spotlight.
When you right click on a .avci, .avcs, .avif, .avifs, .bmp, .dib, .gif, .heic, .heics, .heif, .heifs, .hif, .jfif, .jpe, .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .tif, .tiff, or .wdp image file, you can use the Set as desktop background context menu item to quickly set that image as your new desktop background wallpaper.
Starting with Windows 11 build 26220.7271 (Dev and Beta 25H2), Microsoft is making a few refinements to the context menu aimed at reducing the space taken by less commonly used actions, while keeping them easy to access. Microsoft is also updated the ordering of actions to group similar tasks. Microsoft moved Compress to ZIP file, Copy as Path, Set as Desktop Background, and Rotate Right, and Rotate Left into a new Manage file flyout.
You must be signed in as an administrator to add or remove the Set as desktop background context menu.

5 Double click/tap on the downloaded .reg file to merge it.
6 When prompted, click/tap on Run, Yes (UAC), Yes, and OK to approve the merge.
7 You can now delete the downloaded .reg file if you like.
