This tutorial will show you how to add or remove the Tab Search button on the tab bar in Microsoft Edge for your account in Windows 11 and Windows 10.
Microsoft Edge is the AI-powered browser. A smarter way to browse. As the only browser built and optimized for Windows, it’s AI-powered tools are designed to help you make the most of your time online. Whether you’re searching, shopping or gaming, AI-powered tools and a security-first approach help you stay productive, save money, and get things done your way.
You can stay focused and save time with tab search in Microsoft Edge. Whether you're managing research for work or juggling multiple tasks at home, tab search helps you instantly find any open or recently closed tab.
You can press the Ctrl + Shift + A keys to open tab search in Microsoft Edge.
Tab search scans all open Edge windows, so you can find a tab even if it’s not in your current window.
Tab search also works with vertical tabs.
Tab search only shows tabs opened in the same InPrivate browsing mode. Tabs opened in regular mode won’t appear in InPrivate Tab search, and vice versa.
Starting with Microsoft Edge 142+, you can turn on or off Show tab search to show a button on the tab bar or vertical tabs pane. Show tab search replaces the Show tab actions menu setting. You can toggle vertical tabs, organize tabs, manage workspaces, search for tabs, open tabs, and close tabs all from within the Search tabs drop menu button.
